Jamie Walters "Think nothing profitable to you which compels you to break a promise, to lose your self-respect, to hate any person, to suspect, to curse, to act the hypocrite, to desire anything that needs walls and curtain about it." Marcus Aurelius quoted on Ivy Sea Online Leadership and Communication Center
The material on her site, much of which she's given us permission to reprint, represents her commitment to help organizations of all sizes "define their own principles of conscious enterprise, bridge any gaps between reality and their ideal, navigate that transformation more effectively, and communicate that vision with a more responsible, authentic voice." It is clear that she appreciates the "potential hidden in most individuals and groups" and has many skills to bring that potential forward. One of those skills is evident in her book, Big Vision, Small Business: 4 Keys to Success Without Growing Big, that has been updated and expanded for a paperback edition scheduled for a November 2002 release by Berrett-Koehler Publishers. Prior to starting her own enterprise in 1992, Jamie helped establish Virginia's Superfund Community Relations Program for the Commonwealths Department of Waste Management. When she joined VDWM, the community-relations program didn't exist; when she left, she had established a thriving, highly regarded program with outreach to more than forty cleanup communities. In fact, after three-and-a-half years, the program director said that, through her diligent and effective efforts, Jamie had "helped make Superfund hazardous waste cleanups a non-issue in Virginia." We thank Jamie Walters for giving us permission to reprint her material and we hope she's someday let us know more about one of the personal facts she lists on her website's bio page"researching the source of the best chocolate." Other personal facts include studying ancient schools of wisdom and reading about archaeological finds of ancient civilizations, and hanging out with her husband Tom and their two cats, Uri and Josephine.
