Getting Well is Both Art and Science

This section, which complements material in Aches and Pains and Total Nutrition, is for those who have chronic and serious illnesses, such as diabetes, cancer, multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, muscular dystrophy, or Parkinson's Disease, and those for care for them.

While we have some articles on clinical information and will eventually offer links to sites devoted to these diseases, we are particularly interested in helping you take back some of the control over life that is often lost when you are diagnosed with a serious illness. In doing so, we are sure you will be able to more easily enhance your sense of physical, emotional, and mental well-being.

If you are an expert in helping people who have chronic and serious illness, or if you are someone who has gone through this experience and would like to share with us what you have learned, you are invited to submit material for this section. Please see Guidelines for Contributors to Learning Place Online.
